Create segments for teams
As your organization grows, you can use segmentation to manage Adaptive Metrics on a per-team or per-service basis. With segments in place, each team filters the UI to view recommendations and manage rules that apply only to their specific metrics.
- Navigate to Adaptive Metrics > Segments.
Click Add new segment.
Enter a descriptive Name for your segment that clearly identifies the team it applies to.
Enter a Label — the metric label that distinguishes the metrics belonging to a particular team (for example, namespace in Kubernetes).
Enter a Value — the criteria for matching the label (for example, web-frontend or web-backend).
(Optional) Select Fallback to default rules to apply general rules to metrics that do not belong to a specific team segment.
(Optional) Select Enable auto-apply Preview to let Adaptive Metrics automatically apply new recommendations for this segment as they are generated. Leave it unchecked if you prefer to review and apply manually — you can change this later from Edit segment.
Click Add to create the segment.
